The Color Workshop/Collage

Instructor: Annalisa Jose

Art collage is a process that supports playful and intuitive expression through color and texture. We will begin the class with a short meditation to quiet the busy mind. In this workshop we will paint color wheels, play with oil pastels, craft paper and recycled materials. We will also learn how to use Mod Podge as a glue and sealant. Students will leave with a personalized art journal and a completed color wheel. Students are welcome to bring photos or purchase fabric from the shop.

About Annalisa...
Annalisa Jose is a mixed media artist from Walnut Creek, Ca.  She creates abstract art through a process of layering color and texture with acrylics, fabric and paper.  Annalisa has completed the Art Cloth Mastery Program and graduated from Mills College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  She also creates original wearable art through a low-immersion dye process.  This process requires less water than most dye-immersion practices, creating unique patterns in the dye container that appear on the fabric/garment.  Find her on Instagram, artbyannalisa.

Oliver the Owl Collage

Instructor: Lynne Douglas

This is a fun class for the confident beginner as well as the more advanced student. The owl will give you the opportunity to make a dent in your stash and scrap pile and perhaps let you try color combinations that are new to you. There are no rulers required. All you need is to be prepared to cut lots of feathers and have fun. This technique can be used for other birds and animals. You can try a selvage background or a collaged background. Lynne will teach you how to use Ultra Solvy to make a realistic tree bark. In addition you will learn how to face a quilt and she will demonstrate a variety of machine quilting stitches to finish your quilt. Lynne is an extraordinary fiber artist who will inspire you and help encourage you to escape your comfort zone.

Once you learn this technique you'll never stop. It's so much fun!
