Drop-in | Class Schedule 2019
Drop-ins are a great place for you to work on your choice of project at your own pace. Come in every week or just come in when you need help. No pre-registration is required. Just show up! We are here for you! Your fee is paid directly to the instructor and you are welcome to use all tools and equipment in our classroom–including cutting tables and tools, sewing machines, rulers, irons and ironing boards, and design walls. You can even store your lunch in our mini-refrigerator or use the microwave to heat up your soup! We are well stocked with coffee, tea, water and snacks to keep you going all day long!
Remember: When you attend a drop-in class you will receive 10% discount on all your purchases for the day of your drop-in (excluding the drop-in fee itself).
Prerequisite: We politely ask that to attend a drop-in you MUST be familiar with and able to operate a sewing machine independently. If you need to learn to use your sewing machine and learn basic sewing skills please schedule a one-on-one lesson first.
Mondays and Thursdays: 10am-2pm with Janis Stob and Margaret Linderman. All levels welcome. Margaret and Janis specialize in all quilting techniques, clothing construction, and other fabric endeavors. ($20)
Tuesdays: 10am-2pm with Kelly Thorsen. All levels welcome. Kelly can help you learn to quilt, from selecting fabric, to design and construction, to quilting options, to final binding of your quilt. She is an avid “bag” maker (Betsy Bag, Diva Wallet etc) !($20)
Tuesdays: 2:30pm - 4:30p with Kelly Thorsen. Hand Stitchers this drop in is especially for you! Kelly is an avid hand stitcher and will take you through Ruth Chandler’s “Modern Hand Stitching” book from the beginning to ending with a beautiful stitch book. Come stitch and chat with Kelly & friends. Are you working on a hand stitching project — this drop-in is perfect for you too! ($15)
1st Saturday of each month: 10am-2pm with Denise Sheehan. All levels welcome. Join Denise for all your hand appliqué projects, specifically the starch method of appliqué. Want to learn to quilt? This is a great class for beginner quilters also. ($20)
3rd Sunday of each month: 11am-3pm with Margaret Linderman. All levels welcome. Margaret specializes in all quilting techniques, clothing construction, and other fabric endeavors. ($20)
1st, 3rd, and 5th (if there is one) Monday of each month: 5:30pm-9:30pm with Laura Nownes. All levels welcome. Laura is the co-author of Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!! and taught many of us at Wooden Gate Quilts how to quilt. She will help you with everything from selecting a project, choosing fabrics, and teaching you piecing and finishing techniques. ($20)
Wednesdays: 5:30pm-9:30pm with Alethea Ballard. All levels welcome. Alethea is an author and favorite instructor who does all things contemporary–piecing, machine appliqué/collage, and longarm quilting ($20)
2nd Thursday of each month: 4:30pm-9pm with Laura Fraga. All levels welcome. Join Laura for your "Dear Jane" quilt or appliqué projects... she teaches all things "quilts" from start to finish. This drop-in is an Open Studio. ($5)
