WE ARE REOPENING! (Sort of) 

As of July 7, we will be open to customers BY APPOINTMENT only. 

We all understand COVID-19 is still a threat to our health. From the beginning, Gene and I have made keeping our staff and our community as healthy as possible. Our plan for the rest of 2020 is very conservative. It is not where we were pre-Covid 19, but it does give you ample opportunity to come into your happy place, experience color and texture again. (not to mention see all of US too!) 

As a reminder, we will need everyone to wear a mask, sanitize your hands and be mindful of social distancing as much as possible.

As we traverse the unknown "re-opening phase" – we will be open by appointment only. Will this be our “new normal”?  It is for now– and as we have all learned – everything can change quickly.

Making an appointment is easy - at the end of this article you will see a teal button that says “Book Now”. This will take you directly to our calendar where you choose the day/time and staff member.  Yep -that is right – Wooden Gate now has “personal shoppers” at your service.  We are now booking appointments starting on July 7 --- get one of our first weeks slots! (There may be surprises during that week for our eager in-shop shoppers!) APPOINTMENTS CAN BE MADE STARTING FRIDAY JUNE 19 (tech issues to be fixed by then)

Due to our shop size, we can only have 2 customers in the shop at a time. Your appointment guarantees 30 minutes of shopping/consulting time. Each appointment is for 1 person. Friends, relatives, spouses, kids will not be able to come in with you (unless they have an appointment at the same time). Our hope is that this appointment system will eliminate lines forming and Wooden Gate staff members having to “decide” who to let in next. As with any appointment – we have reserved this time just for you. Understand that if you are late – you are sacrificing your personal shopping time. We know that “stuff” happens – if you can’t keep your appointment, please contact us or change your appointment through the website.

Unfortunately, due to social distancing guidelines - walk-ins will only be allowed into the shop if there is an open appointment time, so please call ahead. Again, a maximum of 2 customers will be allowed in the shop at a time.  

Be assured that our staff is taking 10 minutes between appointments to sanitize all work surfaces. Also understand that if you don’t “see” customers in the shop we are getting ready for your reserved shopping time. 

Many inside changes will be happening over the next few weeks to comply with state/county/city guidelines for social distancing.  The main change is that our classroom will be closed for the rest of 2020.  All in person classes/drop-ins/special events are cancelled.  For those that have had classes postponed or cancelled – Debi will be contacting you to arrange refunds/store credit for the events you signed up for. As this year continues with surprises, and to keep our community sewing and sharing - we are setting up a virtual classroom and are hoping to roll out a Zoom Fall class calendar by mid to late August.  

WHAT IS NOT CHANGING 

Our website is full of fabric, notions and patterns for you to browse. We are working daily to make more items available and to make the sight more user friendly.  Let us know what we can do to make the virtual shop as amazing as shopping inside our four walls. 

We are open for curbside pick-up Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Our Pick-up times remain the same: 1:30pm – 3:00pm.   Please maintain social distancing and wear a mask when picking up your order.  The Bins & your customer bags will be sanitized before setting outside.  If we are shipping your order, your fabric and bag/box are handled with sanitized hands and gloves before we send it off in the mail.

Join us for lunch on our INSTAGRAM LIVE  every Thursday at NOON (Pacific time) for a look at new fabrics, meet designers, explore new patterns and “tools” or just to take a look around the shop. Have something you want to see – send Debi a message --- who knows who might be “stopping by”!  We want to have this be informative as well as have you shop virtually.  All orders taken on the Instagram Live show are ready for pick-up on Fridays!  We are FAST!!

In closing – Gene and I are humbled and thankful for the outpouring of support this community has given us during these COVID months. The re-opening would not be possible without each of your purchases during this time. We appreciate your patience, understanding and your tenacity to make for others. We can hardly wait to see all the “Quarantine Quilts” you have made!
