 Quilting & COVID-19 - JUNE 


Hello Everyone! 

As the State moves rapidly into the Phasing of the reopening of businesses, we are following these details closely and will be adjusting our business to keep our staff and you safe and healthy. Knowing this, we hope that you will understand that our tiny shop will be greatly impacted - the immediate change happens  with classes and drop-ins. With the classroom being the heart of our community, we all realize that social distancing can not be adhered to - so we are canceling IN SHOP classes through September.  In the coming weeks, I hope to have met with all instructors to make plans for possibly holding classes through the use of Zoom.  Most of the drop-ins have been meeting via Zoom these past weeks and most of you are getting very savvy in the technology. If you were registered in classes that have been postponed, your class fees have been converted to store credit. Please contact me if you would like other arrangements.

PHASE TWO for Retail Business:
As of May 17 - the newest code for our shop states that "customers are not allowed inside the establishment at any time" . We are open with our unique "BENCH-SIDE" Pick-up service. Bench-side pick-up is available  Monday/Wednesday/Friday during the hours of 1:30p-3:00pm.  To help with social distancing recommendations, we ask that you approach the bench one at a time and wait in your car rather than forming a line.  Consultations can NOT be held during Pick-up days/hours, please understand that we want to help with your projects so please help us by calling or emailing ahead of time if you need to add to your order. We will take your payment information over the phone - as we need to restrict the handling of your card. 

With customers still not being able to enter the shop- we ask that if you need help or want to match fabrics for a project that you call and make a Zoom/Facetime appointment. Appointments are scheduled - Tuesdays & Thursdays and appointments can be arranged by emailing Debi at The appointments will be no longer than 30 minutes and are scheduled between the hours of 12pm-3pm.  Your consultation will be held with a staff member who is at the shop. 

This transition period is very confusing. Some retailers are allowing customers, others are servicing folks through curbside delivery, and some, like us are taking a conservative approach. We understand that you want to come back in and "pet" fabrics like we did before COVID-19, however, we are not ready for that yet. Due to the size and configuration of our shop,  we do not meet the recommended criteria for social distancing.  Until we can meet those guidelines, our business model will continue on our present "conservative-cautious" path. Wooden Gate highly respects it's customers and staff and we will continue to do whatever is required to maintain the health and safety of each of us. Please help me keep you, my staff and our families safe by being patient and supporting us through our online shop.

Stay Healthy! We miss you all - and like you are anxious to have this pandemic subside. However, in order to have that happen we need to mask up, shelter in place, and finish those UFO's!  We will have a "Quarantine Quilt Show"  date  TBD - to show off all our finished projects!
