Free Motion Fun!
If you are looking to learn free motion quilting your quilts on your domestic sewing machine, this is the class for you!
This is a two session class we will cover:
- How to set-up your machine for free motion quilting
- The right tools for free motion quilting
- Practice quilting shapes and design discussion
Supply List:
- Sewing machine (best to clean the bobbin area and oil your machine if required)
- Wooden Gate Quilts Free Motion fabric kit (included in class fee)
- Topstitch sewing machine needles, Size 90/14
- Darning foot or free motion quilting foot for your sewing machine
- Neutral color thread for machine & full bobbin (preferably 50 or 60 weight) for practice
- Note pad, pencil or pen for practice of designs
- Scissors, pins
- Machine owners manual
- Ruler 12" length or longer - any width will do - we are drawing lines on fabric.
Optional Items (preferred if you have them, but not required)
- Quilting gloves
- Single hole stitch plate for your machine if you have one (gives better stitches).
- Silicone mat i.e. Supreme Slider
- Extension table for sewing machine
- Herra Marker
