Holiday Baking with Layer Cakes
In this class, you will use pre-printed paper sheets called "Recipe Cards" to help accurately turn two 10" squares of fabric into eight half-square triangles with no marking. You will make at least one set in class and learn how they can be sewn together into different designs. Recipe cards have 44 sheets in each pack. We'll use either recipe set #3 or #4 in this class. There are twelve different recipe card packs in all.
We will be making a holiday quilt of your choice based on your "Recipe Card"
What You Need to Bring to Class:
- 1 Layer Cake with both dark/medium and light-colored fabrics (a "Layer Cake" is a pack of coordinating pre-cut 10" squares) OR cut your own 10" squares - please bring a minimum of 4 dark/medium fabrics and 4 light fabrics.
- 1 Layer Cake of background fabric to coordinate with your "prints"
- Cake Mix Recipe Card of your choosing
- Cotton Thread to blend with your light/medium fabric colors.
- Rotary Cutter
- Your favorite thread snips
- Sewing Machine & notions
- Your FAVORITE Christmas Cookie recipe
